    Persepolis author Marjane Satrapi dies of ‘sadness’ at 56

    Marjane Satrapi, the acclaimed Iranian-French graphic novelist, filmmaker and activist best known for her groundbreaking memoir Persepolis, died on June 4 at the age of 56. According to her family, she died "of sadness" a little over a year after the death of her husband, Swedish filmmaker Mattias Ripa.
