    Google Introduces Fake Call Detection for Android Phones to Curb Call Spoofing Attacks

    Android phones are now capable of detecting fake calls to alert users even before they pick up a call, Google announced on Tuesday. The Mountain View-based tech giant, in a blog post, said that the new fake call detection functionality is now rolling out globally for devices running Android 12 and newer versions. The new security feature, which will act as an additional layer of protection against bad actors, is claimed to curb the problem of AI-based voice cloning scams, call spoofing attacks, and impersonation fraud.
