    Apple Ordered to Pay $5.7 Billion Over Haptics Patents Used in iPhone, Apple Watch

    Apple has been ordered to pay more than $5.7 billion to Taction Technology after a US jury found that its Taptic Engine infringed two haptics patents. The patents relate to haptic technology that produces vibrations in devices such as smartphones and smartwatches. Apple has denied using Taction's technology and said it plans to appeal the verdict. The case dates back to 2021, when Taction accused Apple of using its patented haptic technology without permission.
